Where do I get the wood for my bowls?

I like to find wood that has been freshly cut. For a salad or serving bowl the natural diameter of the wood needs to be at least 14 inches. Anything over 12 inches in diameter is good for a slightly smaller serving bowl.  Black walnut trunks or limbs from 6 to 10 inches in diamter will yield good wood for natural edge bowls. For any natural edge bowls, it is better if the tree is cut from approximately November 1 through February 15.

If you are aware of wood that meets these criteria, and that is in Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth or Waukesha county in southeastern Wisconsin, feel free to drop me a line through the contact link.

I am willing to consider custom work if you have a tree that you want a bowl made from. I do not require a deposit for custom work unless I need to purchase a special wood or some other item to complete the piece.
