Salt and Pepper Mills

on Jan 28, 2012 | Pens and spindle turning | 0 comments

For her birthday, my youngest daughter wanted a set of salt and pepper mills.  I selected some walnut and cherry to make them out of.

Normally. I don't go in much for the coves and beads and ogees, but I turned the walnut mill, and then it became a challange to see if I could turn the cherry mill to match.

The walnut mill is the pepper mill and the cherry mill is for salt.  they are approximately 6 inches high. The finish is several coats of wipe-on poly and buffed.
